Lisi Harrison Hi!!! I'm so glad you like Girl Stuff. That makes me so happy. I love it too. I just put the finishing touches on Awkward Stuff and can't wait for you to read it. Right now I don't have plans to write a fourth. That doesn't mean I won't though. I have a new series coming out 9/6/22 called Graveyard Girls. I think you'll like that too.
xoxo Lisi
Lisi Harrison I was working at MTV in New York and was hyper-aware of how desperately everyone wanted to fit in. The ways they betrayed their true selves to be liked. It made me think of middle school. And so it began...
Lisi Harrison I'm back to Young Adult. I'm writing two series right now: Girl Stuff and The Pack. I can't stay away from YA.
Lisi Harrison Hi Alex,
Right now I don't have plans to continue Dirty Book Club as a series. But I would love more time with them too so who knows? I'm definitely open to it if enough people want it.

Lisi Harrison Hey,
Coming up with the Clique characters wasn't hard, it was fun. Once I decided on their types I gave them all quriks, habits, expressions, and personal styles. Those little details are what made them feel real. Without them those girls would be forgettable. It's kind of like building a house then decorating it. Without the decorations, it's just a plain old house.
Lisi Harrison I feel your pain. It's the worst. I keep promising I'll reveal the end. Maybe I'll do it on this week's blog at LisiHarrison.com. Thank you for the inspiration. I'm on it...
Lisi Harrison Hey,
I actually did know I wanted to be a writer when I was younger. What I didn't know was how I'd ever make it happen. The cool thing about being a writer is all you have to do is write and then, bam! You're a writer.
Lisi Harrison Hi Kea,
I actually have considered writing about the Clique characters in their 20s. I'm working on a new series now and might do that one after. It will be challenging for sure but I'm up for it.
Lisi Harrison Hi Najma,
Are you talking about a TV series? I'd love to do one for the Clique. Never say never. I'll keep you posted.
Lisi Harrison Hi Rose,
I'm hoping to write one about all of the Clique girls and their lives now. In their 20s.
Lisi Harrison Hey Kyle,
I made me become an author. It was the one thing I loved doing. It was inside of me the same way sports or dancing or coding or cooking can be inside someone else. Writing was installed in my hard drive since birth. Then I worked like a maniac to make it a career. What is inside you?
Lisi Harrison It's hard to say which one is the best. Each one was the best I could write at the time. But I will say this: Charmed and Dangerous was the most magical. It was the prequel and I had never thought about the character's lives before the first novel. Having to go back and figure out their pasts and watching it all come together was an amazing experience. It made me really feel like I created real people with real histories. It was cool.
Lisi Harrison Hi Kyla,
I had every intention of writing a third Pretenders but the publisher decided to stop the series after two books. It's a huge bummer, I know. I loved writing it. Maybe I will post the end on an upcoming blog post. I am working on a new website now. It should be live in a week or so. LisiHarrison.com. I will add that to my list of blog topics. Thanks for the inspiration.

Lisi Harrison I started a Dirty Book Club of my own when I moved to Laguna Beach in 2007. It seemed to be the fastest way to get to know people. I was right.
Lisi Harrison I make a routine of it. As if I was reporting to work. I get my latte, light a candle, slather on my essential oils, take a deep breath, and begin. Every. Single. Day. The routine, along with some fun rituals, really helps.

As far as inspiration? That shows up when it wants. It's annoying.
Lisi Harrison My new novel, The Dirty Book Club comes out October 10, 2017. I am currently working on reconnecting with fans after way too long.
Lisi Harrison Aspiring writers: Think of writing like working out. You want to build muscle or burn fat? You peel yourself off the couch and go to the gym. It's a slow process but one that must be done daily if you want results. Same thing. Write every day, read the things that inspire you, get out in the world and write down the things that tickle you. Do it whether you want to or not. Expect good days and bad days. No one said writing was easy. And if they did they were talking about something else.
Lisi Harrison The best thing about being a writer is getting to control a universe. I get to make people say what I want, wear what I want, and struggle with what I want. I am God in gym clothes.
Lisi Harrison Writer's block is like a warning light in a car, an indication that something is not working. Take a walk, look at your story in a new way, and get back to it. Don't give in or you will end up with a spoiled imagination that throws tantrums every time it gets stuck.
