Standing on the sidelines and not being able to help was frustrating, which is why, when I had the chance to be involved in the Love is in the Air anthology project, I signed up immediately.

The Love Is in the Air anthology is a collection of stories about second chances and is coming out in August 2023. The net profits of this project will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation #BCRF to advance their work to both prevent breast cancer and to develop promising treatment options.

I am relieved to say that all three of my family members survived their treatment journey. I credit their own strength, their medical teams, and the improvements in treatment options for their survival.

Ever heard of the Pomodoro method of time management?

It is a great technique for getting things done because it breaks down the day into really manageable chunks:

* 25 minutes of work (in my case writing)

* 5-minute break (in my case grab a cup of java or tea)

* 25-minute work (writing)

* 5-minute break (throw a load of laundry into the dryer).

The very best part of this method (besides getting a whole pile of work done) is what happens every four pomodoros. That is when I get to take a 15 to 30-minute break.

I can do a lot in 15 to 30 minutes, but my favorite thing is to read (I am a writer, after all).

That's why I'm so excited about the Christmas Wishes and New Year's Kisses Collection. Each story takes about 30 to 45 minutes to read and by the time I get to my reading break, I will have done at least two hours of work, so it's a real guilt-free break.

Yeah!

I am thankful for my neighbours. They make my life richer because they are, for the most part, friendly, interested in supporting the neighbourhood, and have fabulous four-legged pets I can talk to regularly.

It is my love of community (and cute little dogs) that prompted me to write Angel and the Neville Next Door about two new neighbours: Helen who is cat-sitting for Angel the cat and Joe who is watching his son's vexing Westie, Neville.

Can the magic of the season and Neville's antics bring these two lonely people together?

I'm pleased to announce that I've joined a team of talented authors to raise money for an important cause: Breast Cancer Research.

This is a cause that is close to my heart because two women in my family and a friend have fought the illness over the past three years. Fortunately, they have all won their battles, but there is so much more work to be done so breast cancer can be detected early, treatments can become less invasive, and more people can survive.
