New in December, Damien Angelica Walters returns with the horror thriller The Dead Girls Club. Tarryn Fisher explores polygamous violence in The Wives. Sara Shepard imagines a digital-age dilemma in the murder mystery Reputation. And weird fiction pioneer Jeff VanderMeer brings us the sci-fi cautionary tale Dead Astronauts. Our narrator is married to Seattle businessman Seth, an open polygamist with two other wives. The women know of each other, but have never met; Seth goes home to a different wife each night of the week. But when a forgotten note suggests another level of secrets, the narrative takes a series of hard left turns. There couldn't be a fourth wife. Right?

The author's new novel looks poised to detonate some additional skulls. Dead Astronauts features a centuries-old leviathan, a madman wandering the desert, an ambitious blue fox, and a gang of ragtag rebels fighting among the ruins of end-stage capitalism. Can't hardly wait.
