The Dead Sea Squirrels are missing! Well, Pearl is. Michael is enjoying his first Saturday of the school year, teaching Merle and Pearl to play soccer―in the house! A stray ball smashes his mom’s prized elephant lamp, and Michel sees the chance to lay blame on his little sister. He and the squirrels head to the park to play. When the man in the suit and sunglasses shows up and snatches Pearl, Michel’s friends and family band together to try to get her back! Michael learns the value of honesty.
Squirrelnapped!is the fourth installment in the hilarious new series from Mike Nawrocki, co-creator of VeggieTales.

The Dead Sea Squirrels is Mike's first children's book series, which he has been delighted to write from the home he shares with his wife, Lisa, and their two children in Franklin, Tennessee.
Lowkey best one yet. Full storyline, suspense, makes me really look forward to the next one. I was legit on the edge of my seat at times. Also the illustrator went off. Love
I’m definitely not enjoying this series. The stories are very simplistic not well written. However, my kids love them and are motivated to do things like put their jammies on or brush their teeth if I promise to read Dead Sea Scrolls to them when they are done. So 5 stars for making bedtime go smoothly. 1 star for quality.
Finally! This book finally addresses the fact that Michael has been lying to his parents from the beginning of the story 4 books ago. I still don't like how long it went on but at least it was addressed. The thing about that though is that they had to introduce a new lie to get to the point that Michael would come clean after he was caught in one lie by his mom who he asked to join him in the lie to his dad. I have no doubts that Michael would have kept up the lie as long as he could. I don't want my kids learning that you can lie as long as you can keep fooling people. Still searching for a reason to let my kids read these books because I loved VeggieTales so much as a kid.

My son loves this series, he's 5 and we have read it as his bedtime read aloud. He was very sad when we had to wait for the next one from the library.
They are wonderful books for reading aloud to the younger children, and great for 2nd-ish grade reading level to read on their own.
The squirrels are charming and entertaining while teaching children great values from the Bible to live by. I highly recommend you read this series if you have not already done so, or read it again if you have.
The books do follow a plot as a whole, so you do need to read them in order.
The Dead Sea Squirrels are a series of children's books that are just a fun read. In each volume, the squirrels and Michael (the boy who discovered them and brought them home from the Dead Sea) get themselves in some sort of predicament, and along the way, they learn some valuable lessons. I don't feel they're preachy; there's one verse at the beginning of the book, which gives you an idea of the lesson that will be learned. My 9- and 10-year-old grandsons think they're hilarious!
Another cute story in the series. These books are the perfect length to keep my kids interested and simple enough to do the same. The lesson in this book was about telling the truth, a very important moral staple. The humor is good for the kids, and there is an element of mystery. Again, the story ends abruptly so you cannot skip around in the series.
Read this as a read aloud for school. My children absolutely love these books. Such a funny story with some great Bible lessons woven in. This one really left on a cliff hanger and we were forced to start book 5 right away. Definitely recommend for kids.
These books just get more outrageous with every volume! Lol. My 3-year-old and I throughly enjoyed this one! It had a great lesson on telling the truth that was a great jumping off point for our conversation on what it means to tell the truth and I know she’ll rereading the story when she’s older too. I had to laugh out loud today as she held up the book and was telling my parents (via FaceTime) about Merle and Pearl squirrel (“hey that rhymes”) and Mr. Nemesis. :)
Read it again with the LO who is now 5. We enjoyed it as much as the first time, and the lesson on telling the truth was even more appropriate now!
