Mixtape #2

Founded on Temptation

Rate this book
This means nothing.

That sentence would become the biggest lie I've ever told myself after spending an unforgettable night with Sebastian Compton.

Because he has rules—one night, no strings attached.

It's easier that way. He travels the world as a bodyguard for his best friend and one of the most famous pop icons alive. I'm merely a glorified coffee-runner, still trying to get noticed by my boss. It would never work between us.

It should have meant nothing.

After all, my best friend schemed to hurt the very man Sebastian was hired to protect—and I knew about it. He shouldn't want to be near me. We shouldn't be sneaking around, hiding our feelings from those closest to us.

I shouldn't want him. He's arrogant, jealous, and possessive—breaking his rules and my boundaries, claiming me for another night only to leave again.

But now, it means everything.

I never expected more than a single night with him. I didn't foresee being thrust back together by the product of our lust. It didn't occur to me that while fighting our feelings, we may have built something worth fighting for.

Most of all, I never thought something so perfect could grow from a relationship that had always been founded on temptation.

You’ve got me f*cked in the head. -Bash
You’ve got me f*cked in the heart. -Riley

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Riley & Sebastian.

Riley is a fantastic leading female. She has zero filter and her personality is electric. She never holds back and her sass just has you wanting her to be your best friend.

Sebastian is pure perfection. He is possessive and caring and just swoon-worthy. There isn’t any words that come out of his mouth that aren’t fire. He can do no wrong in my opinion.

I was captivated from the start! The beginning just starts off with so much fun and personality that you are drawn in. I smiled and laughed and swooned so much! This easily became a top book of the year for me and Bash a top book boyfriend! I promise you he is everything!

The first few chapters of this do interconnect with Founded on Goodbye, however I did read this first and didn’t feel like I was too confused. I do recommend reading Founded on Goodbye first though, you’ll have less questions.

The author has done a fantastic job of overlapping books, and we are getting all sides of the story. I love Riley. Her sass and lack of filter make for some great dialog. Sebastian is just a big growly bear with dirty talk for days. He has rules, but Riley manages to make him forget them!
As the sparks fly with these two, we get a story to keep us reading.

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

12.08.2022- after months of procrastination, i finally read this, and i have ✨tdzܲٲ✨ but 3.5/5 stars

1. i'm not saying that i'm the reason this book exists, but i'm not not saying that i'm the reason this book exists

2. sorta friends to enemies to hookup buddies to enemies to lovers? to enemies to lovers.

3. this book's timeline (wrt ) is nora-nash cabin → nora-nash breakup → nora-nash getting back together. most of the plot happens during the (i wanna say 6 months??) time when nora and nash broke up

4. this book is literally only sex scenes. they start at chapter 4, and just keep continuing on until the end of the book. compared to book 1 (), the spice is more, but the plot is less. :( -0.5 stars for that because i wanted some character development or some kind of world-building.

5. i CALLED it with the pregnancy!!! i personally hate the accidental pregnancy troupe, so -1 star for that.

6. i really wanted bash to actually speak out loud what had happened to him, and then riley comforts him. what i got was a vague
"So I told her all that had been done to me during my childhood."

7. that scene with bash's dad could've just been avoided and spared all of us major secondhand embarrassment.

8. holden and riley.

9. they made a sheet fort.

10. towards the end, i really hated riley for being so indecisive like CAN U NOT SEE THIS MAN IS UTTERLY DEVOTED TO YOU? YOU COULD RUN HIM OVER AND HE WOULD APOLIGISE TO YOU FOR RUINING HIS CAR

11.

I, for one, absolutely love when an author is writing a series and the second book overlaps the first, as Founded On Temptation does. I think it is great because it is like a story within a story. So much fun!

While Nash and Nora are in the thick of it all during his tour, his best friend and her best friend totally hit it off on their very first encounter. And that is where Founded on Temptation takes us. We get to see all that heat of Riley and Sebastian, who totally floored me.

Sebastian’s first glimpse of Riley has him hot for her, and she can’t deny the pull either. But that is all it is… just one night of pure bliss. He cannot offer her anymore because he can’t even allow himself to be touched. But when (even after all hell breaks loose between Nash and Nora) Bash still cannot get this girl out of his head, he is at a stand still, not knowing what to do. He is possessive when he shouldn’t be… distant when he shouldn’t be… and Riley’s head is spinning over the moods of this gorgeous man who she can’t stop thinking about.

This book was such a great look into the other side of a romance that I already loved so much, but with a whole new couple that I found myself falling in love with. Bash was this super sexy, but totally broken guy who you cannot help but just want to wrap in a big embrace (like he’d even let you). And Riley was such a great and loyal friend. She was just trying to make sense of what life was dealing her and I loved her for it!

This series is very fast becoming one of my absolute favorite one😍😍

I was so freaking excited for this second book especially because it features Riley and Sebastian.
The brooding but fun bantering bodyguard of Nash and the no filter - say it as it is best friend of Nora.
Anddddd...... This book was oh so more freaking fun and amazing than I'd thought.

The push and pull between these two is so delicious and entertaining and just everything. Both not able to resist the temptation of being together but yet unable to acknowledge the growing feelings between them.

I also loved that we get to see the alternate perspective of the Nash and Nora break that happens in book 1. I loved seeing and getting to know how the people around Nash and Nora were affected and coped with all that happened.

It was just so fascinating to see how fate conspired again and again to make Sebastian and Riley stumble upon each other and making them meet accidentally.
Making them both unable to forget and resist each other.

This one was a truly addictive, infuriating but emotion filled ride full of fun banter with a possessive alpha man and a very straight forward no filter woman.
Loved loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yes!

As some of you may or may not know one of my favorite reads of the year thus far is Founded On Goodbye (book 1 in the Mixtape series) and this is a standalone story that follows Riley and Bash, two characters that were introduced in FOG.

After a "no strings attached" night of pleasure Riley and Bash intend to leave it at that, but fate has other plans when they find themselves being thrown together once again and slowly the both of them realize that maybe there is more between them other than what happens between the sheets

This book definitely had a different feeling compared to FOG and felt much more fast-paced in terms of the romance and the smutty scenes were definitely a major highlight, this is definitely Kat's steamiest book so far. I also loved seeing Bash open up to Riley more and letting his guard down after a less than stellar upbringing (TW for abuse)

I will say this one did take a little longer to hook me in storywise but it didn't completely derail the story for me. I also did not expect the sort of "twist" that was thrown in towards the end which I honestly really enjoyed a lot more than I thought. I have a feeling it could be hit or miss for some readers but I honestly really loved it and it cemented my love for the story more.

Also the Nash and Nora breadcrumbs obviously were a highlight as well as seeing possible hints towards other couples that could appear in the series (fingers crossed for a Lennon book)

All in all this was another solid book from Kat that I absolutely loved

Bash & Riley took me for a ride! I LOVED this book, way more then the first one too I might add. Normally any kind of music romance just isn’t my thing. With this one, I was sucked in from the beginning because of these two. Riley gives off this “no fucks given” attitude that I adore! Bash is an overprotective, damaged man who just has soooo much growth because of her. It honestly was amazing to see how they interacted with one another. The chemistry on the page for them was so natural, I never felt like anything was forced or awkward.

The angst/obstacles these two has to go through in order to reach their HEA were super relatable. I genuinely felt their hurt, pain, passion & ugh of course their love for each other! If you’re gonna read a Kat Singleton book, I highly recommend this one!

Did you love Founded on Goodbye? Do you miss Nora and Nash? Do you want to know what happened between Sebastian and Riley?

This much anticipated follow-up is even better than the viral sensation Founded on Goodbye, and is my new favorite Kat Singleton book! Sebastian and Riley's chemistry is 🔥🔥🔥 My jaw DROPPED multiple times with the things Sebastian said: "Let me be very clear. I don't want anyone else touching you but me. Understood?" I am so sorry Nash, but I think Sebastian is my new obsession.

Founded on Temptation starts with that fateful night in the cabin and the one night stand Sebastian and Riley will never forget. Sebastian is not a relationship guy and after finding out that Riley knew Nora was deceiving his best friend, Nash, he never wants to see her again. But the universe has other plans in mind, and he can't keep his hands off of Riley whenever she's around. Riley knows Sebastian will never settle down, but she can't help but develop feelings for the bodyguard, especially when she compares every other man to him. Is he capable of being in a relationship? What will it take for him to finally settle down?

Sebastian and Riley's story was beautiful and their HEA was absolutely perfect! Their sexual tension was felt throughout the entire book and with Riley's sassy personality and Sebastian's bluntness, the banter between these two was *chef's kiss*. I couldn't stop reading!

This book can be read as a standalone, but I HIGHLY recommend reading Founded on Goodbye first because the events in the end of the first book overlap with the beginning of this one.

*Disclosure: I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review*

first about the tropes? bodyguard romance and friends with benefits?? SIGN ME UP.
What I also loved about this book is that I saw some little snippets of my fave couple (Nora and Nash) from the first book (Founded on Goodbye)

Riley is funny, confident, smart and a positive young woman who gives a lot of uplifting vibes. One important thing about her is that she is always true to herself. Besides that, she would do anything for her loved ones, as well as her best friend Nora.

Sebastian is hot, possessive, and he just so happens to be the bodyguard of Riley's best friend's famous boyfriend Nash, who is Sebastian’s best friend. About Sebastians childhood, one can say that he didn't have an easy childhood at all. His father didn't treat him well and destroyed the healthy family image for Sebastian.

But despite Sebastian’s main rule to only have one night stands, both characters eventually came up with the idea of starting a friends with benefits relationship. Whether it works well and they don’t develop feelings is definitely another question...

I loved this book so much!! It is a fast paced bodyguard romance!!

This story is about Riley and Sebastian. Riley is Nora’s best friend (who is the female main character in Founded on Goodbye). Sebastian is Nash bodyguard/ best friend (who is the male main character in Founded on Goodbye).

Riley is a strong leading female character. She has absolutely zero filter for anything she says. I love her electric personality. She is the type of person that you always want to be around. She is super sassy and that right there makes her a really good best friend.

Sebastian (or Bash) is literal perfection. He is super sexy, dominant, possessive, caring, and lovable. He is a broken character from all his past trauma but Riley help him overcome it. He automatically feels something for Riley when they first meet. He doesn’t like to be touched with out his permission in where you can touch him but Riley changes that for him. And let me tell you he is really good at sex talk, swoon-worthy!

I absolutely fell in love with this couple and their story! I do recommend reading Founded on Goodbye before you read this one as it will make you have less questions on what is going on.

Breaking all the rules!

Sebastian is Nash's personal bodyguard. He's so mysterious and the flames that he ignites in Riley will not be denied. She's not some 'damsel in distress.' She stands her ground, speaks her mind, and has no tolerance for the sass and crass that he uses as a defense against the world.

The rulebook is thrown out the window. There is just something about her that he can't seem to shake. What should have been just a one night stand with Nora's best friend has Sebastian taking a hard look at something within her that could change everything within him.

The temptation was too much, I stayed up way past my bedtime. 'Bash' and 'Trouble' were just that Hot! The push/pull chemistry and the banter between them will have you needing several cold showers. This one has so many touching moments that had my heart skipping beats, also tension that was making my temperature jump.

I've loved Riley's attitude and say it as it is persona since founded on goodbye so getting to see her story was one I knew I would enjoy, shes sassy, fiesty and doesn't sugar coat anything.
Sebastian (insert major swooning) i absolutely love, hes broody and serious, hot and cocky, but sweet and loving and oh my poor heart.
These two together was explosive, the chemistry was off the charts.
I was gripped from the very first page, completely consumed from cover to cover. This is only my second book ive read of kats and she's very quickly becoming one of my favourite authors.
Founded on temptation is sweet and sexy, hot and steamy with an amazing story inbetween, I've laughed, cried and forgot how to breath but I would relive it in a heartbeat.
100% recommended

I liked that this one ran parallel to Nash and Nora's story. So we got to see glimpses of them from other's perspective. Gave me some insight into them and touched on a few things I thought were missing from Nash and Nora's story. But that is just it, it was too much Nash and Nora at the beginning and not enough Sebastian and Riley. I didn't really feel or see their connection. There wasn't a whole lot of interaction between the two of them and then bam they are in love and in a relationship that Sebastian swore he would do. It didn't feel real to me. Also didn't really care for Riley. She rubbed me the wrong way and I can't put my finger on why. I really liked Sebastian in the first book so this is a bummer that he didn't get the story he deserved.

Next up is Monica and I am not sure I want to see her get any kind of redemption after what she did to Nash. But maybe it will it will clear up her motivation for me and I will like her. We shall see.

This book was THE best Kat Singleton book I have read yet. The absolute goosebump forming chills I got reading Riley and Sebastian together was MADNESS. Right from the get go the chemistry and insane attraction held my attention and didnt let go.
Riley was the best type of one night stand a guy could ask for. She would rock your world and not need you to cuddle her the next morning. What more could you want? She never got attached. Then Sebastian came along. And he CAME ALONG. He was just like Riley. Not looking or wanting anything. Just a quick bang because hello, they were massively attracted to each other. If you hadnt read the book before this, Sebastian is the bodyguard to a major pop star and Riley is the best friend to said pop star's girl friend who is also the dancer on his team. So Riley and Sebastian was never TRULY going to be just one night and goodbye never see you again.
Sebastian was....WOW. I LIVED FOR HIM. Out of all the books I have read this year, and I have read A LOT, Sebastian will be in the top for me and for a LONG time. He was so passionate, possessive, MINE MINE MINE and dang I want him all over again. I think the fact that Riley was JUST like him made him more growly and addicted to her.
Now, I am trying to be as vague as possible with this review. So all I can say is, I am HELLA excited for this next book in this series. This next couple will give us FIRE. EXCITEMENT. ANGER. LUST. EVERYTHING. I AM READY!!!!! 5 STARS!!!!!

💕Hook up, accidental pregnancy, soul mates, love at first sight, music romance & duol pov
🚨Sex, alcohol abuse, addiction and drug use & mentions of sexual assault

Trigger warning: PARENTAL ABUSE AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE

Sebastian: a body guard for Nash Pierce the famous rockstar. Since Nash’s life went down hill, the last thing he can do is get involved with the best friend of the person responsible for the tumble down the hill. But temptation makes it so hard to ignore the women who makes his heart race.

Riley: Nora’s best friend, the women who single handily ruined Nash’s life. So getting involved with his body guard is a bad bad idea. There’s no way anything can happened between them…. But it does. Temptation makes the fruit so much sweeter,

I do have to say, the book seemed to to be focused on Nora and Nash more than the couple it was supposed to be centered around. There were long stretches of time where they didn’t talk, they would run into each other and BAM!!! They hooked up.

Another thing that bothered me was Holden. Was it necessary to drag him into this? That was beyond cruel? Then to not tell us what he said?

HEA
DUAL POV
Surprise pregnancy
Other man drama
Push and pull

i didn’t really love this book. the hookup trope kinda annoyed me then it turned into pregnancy trope which i should have seen coming but i didn’t.

i thought the whole thing with holden was weird because it felt like forced jealousy trope. and riley kinda cheated on holden because she hooked up with sebastian again when they were together and sebastian just got super possessive over her.

nash and nora <3

i loved sebastian’s reaction to finding out that riley was pregnant but the argument that they got into was really annoying.

i felt like their backstories were very under developed. all i remember about riley is that she has a bunch of brothers and sebastian’s dad abused him but that was about it and the author didn’t go into a lot of detail, the same with the first book i felt like i didn’t know the characters all that well.

i’m intrigued by the next book because it’s nash’s brother aiden and monica, and it’s enemies to lovers. but i can’t wait for the last book because lennon is a reader and i have heard amazing things about poe.

Having read Founded On Goodbye I have been wanting so badly to read more of Ms.Singleton's work! As soon as she announced this second installment I could not contain my excitement for it! I picked this one up right away and got right back into The Mixtape world! I enjoyed this second book so much!

Ever since the first book i've been so curious about Sebastian as well as Riley and wanted to get into their minds! I was so glad that these two got their own story. Sebastian and Riley's journey hooked me from the start! I so enjoyed the chemistry between these two and getting to dig deeper with them.

With Founded On Temptation, Ms.Singleton has created a great read! It was awesome to be back in this world and reunite with characters. I can't wait for more of this series in the third installment, Founded On Deception!

She truly never fails to deliver a story that grabs onto you from the very start .Riley and Sebastian it’s almost impossible not to fall for these two .Riley is such a strong female lead - she always speaks her mind and man oh man does she have a personality to match
Sebastian- he’s perfection , so possessive and caring , not to mention swoon worthy . What a fun , emotional and intriguing romance. It literally keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time , it took me a little over 4 hours to devour this awesome book .

i’ve finally finished this book😭 hey alexa play the great war by taylor swift🥲

i am so so so sorry to rate this book 1 star because i love kat singletons books but for some reason i could not connect with these characters for the life of me🫠

the writing was amazing as always but i just didn’t like riley and seb for some reason. my favorite parts of this book were the ones that mentioned nash and nora… after stopping at chapter 19 and picking it up 2 months later i skimmed through a lot of the remainder of this book.

it really hurts to rate FOT so low but😔 i’m hoping FOD will be better for me

THE TENSION IN THIS BOOK IS JUST *chefs kiss*
i really enjoyed Riley and Sebastian’s story and the only reason I’m giving it a 3.75 stars is cause of the “plot twist” and third act breakup
like miss girl broke up with him cause he was “too perfect” 😭id probably do that to but I don’t wanna be reading about fmcs doing that!! i also felt like the plot twist was just added for the sake of just being added
it felt like the author ran out of ideas and just decided to do that
but other than that it was cute <33

Founded on Temptation by Kat Singleton is book Two in The Mixtape Series. This starts the story of Sebastian 'Bash' and Riley. This book does intertwine with the first book because Bash is Nash's bodyguard and Riley is Nora's best friend from the previous book. So reading both did add to my enjoyment of this one. Bash can only give one night to women due to his schedule and him really just not wanting more I thought. Riley is working to get further in her career so she too shouldn't want more but the two can't seem to stop their one night standing from going into more nights. Enjoyed their story.
