The writing is bad, the pacing is terrible... I have no idea about romance books... but this is neither romantic nor does love bloom in the darkest days. One short documentary on youtube on the accident made me feel more than this crap.

I mean ... wtf instalove is bad enough... but settling for the best friend because the other option seems to be dead is worse... Ray coming back two days before the wedding day is the dumbest thing. ... and she only knew him for a couple of weeks... and was gone for years.. and now they continue their relationship... ... nah.

The characters are stupid. The conversations are stupid. And I swear to god... it's soooo badly written. Nothing makes sense... The blood fantasies are getting annoying and make me want to gouge out my eyes. ... This is "Atlas Six" bad and makes me hate reading. I can't. STUPID....more

This book has no redeeming qualities. The only quality of this book is that it can be used as an example of poorly written characters and terrible plot lines. The author thinks that she is hilarious, which she is not! I hate this book and the ending doesn't make up for the awful story. I still like Nico... He is the one star in this book.
I loved the plot and the potential of the book ..... the characters and their relationships were so utterly bland. (Nico saved the day... I believed his development and I liked his relationships.) I absolutely despise that I feel nothing for the other characters and that you don't see any friendship-progressions. I also don't appreciate the predictability of some aspects and I don't like how stupid the answers are that characters give to other characters. .... Very mediocre writing. I'm still looking forward to reading the next book. (Hopefully with less brackets.) I really did enjoy the plot, the magic system, the setting and the story itself. ... I see a lot of potential reading Gideon and Nico and I really hope that reading the now established relationships will be more enjoyable in the sequel. I do believe so. ...more
