I'll Be Waiting is a truly haunting story of a widow and hopeful skeptic of the paranormal hoping to find real evidence Rating: 4.5 stars rounded up
I'll Be Waiting is a truly haunting story of a widow and hopeful skeptic of the paranormal hoping to find real evidence of her late husband on the other side of the veil. When taking a friend and her brother-in-law on a weekend to attempt to contact her husband one last time, they find themselves in over their heads as her husband may not be the only one waiting on the other side.
There were moments in which I had to stop (listening to the audiobook) because my skin was crawling. The characters were well developed and the pacing of the book was perfect and worked well to wrack up the creeping tension. What I really liked is that the main character has Cystic Fibrosis and you don't see many characters with CF, especially in horror....more

The beginning of the book was a bit slow, but once things pick up, the story really takes off. The character development was exquisite! I love Faron and the fact that she will readily admit that she's not only a "little sh*t", but an expert bullsh*tter. Older sister, Elara, has dreams of her own that typically end up on the backburner, but holds no resentment toward her gods-blessed sister.

I thought it started out strong, but as I got further through the book, found myself enjoying it a bit less. I know it's fiction, but it didn't feel natural or realistic and the chemistry felt forced. i know this will definitely be some people's cup of tea, and I liked it well enough, but not enough to continue to the next book....more

Ember is such a relatable character who has parental trauma and always tends to find herself in the "fixer" role for her family, to the detriment of herself. All Ember dreams of is to one day work in accounting and to actually be able to make a living, but with only a partially completed accounting degree and being a mixed-native woman, she can't even get an interview. One little lie snowballs until she is in too deep. She's lying to family, she's lying to her bosses and coworkers, she's lying to her new love interest. There's only one way to go from here and it's not looking good.
I absolutely loved this and 100% recommend it!...more

This was a unique, fast-paced, and unputdownable novel told in the narrative of the reluctant slasher himself as he recounts what happened those fateful nights he became a slasher in his small town. The character development was fantastic, I loved Amber and honestly felt for Tolly. I had such a great time reading this book!
