*Buddy Read with Leah! July 21 2013 4.5 Stars! Oh David David David. The beginning of this one actually captured my attention. I don't know how many times I've been over the toilet because of too much tequila and definitely not remembering the night before. I instantly connected with Ev. I laughed and cried with this one. I was heart broken for David half the time and heart broken for Ev half the time. I can't wait for more of this series so we can see how Ev and David progress!...more
"Because I want to kiss her and make love to her and marry her and make her have my babies and I want it alI think I found my Dean Holder!!
"Because I want to kiss her and make love to her and marry her and make her have my babies and I want it all to happen tonight." Hehehe I loved having Holders POV. I started reading the book side by side because I wanted to compare each sentence and feelings on both sides...and it was as passionate and beautiful as Hopeless was. I definitely recommend this book not only because we had more Holder, but we got a peek inside the story with Les. Les had a huge role in this story even if she wasnt alive, but we found out more and more about her and her life.
Six texting Sky: "Sky, you are beautiful. You are possible the most exquisite creature in the universe and if anyone tells you otherwise, I'll cut the bitch." -- the last sentence sounds like something one of my friends would say.
"Let me inform you of something," I say, lowering my voice. "The moment my lips touch yours, it will be your first kiss. Because I'd you've never felt anything when someone's kissed you, then no one's ever really kissed you. Not the way I plan on kissing you." I love the way Holder loves Sky. (view spoiler)[ this book unfolds and gives more detail and reasonings as to why he acts the way he does and specifically when he finds out Sky is Hope. (hide spoiler)] You definitely HAVE to read Hopeless before reading this one.
"I need this. I need to know for sure that you're feeling every single thing that I'm feeling the moment my lips touch yours. Because. I want your first kiss to be the best first kiss in the history of first kisses." I found few other pics of my Holder.
Love his innocent baby face.
Holder is so sweet...it's not gross sweet, but super sweet! "Time has completely stopped, and all I'm thinking about while we kiss is how this is what saves people. Moments like these with people like her are what make all the suffering worth it." I'm going to quote the whole damn book here soon! Most people I know don't prefer to read the same book with a different point of view, but I love love love Holder and I loved this one! Def recommend!

I really did. Only a few major things that got on my nerves. The over all story was great, but Nik sounded like a girl IMO. Several times on his POV he didn't sound like a guy actually thinking. Lately, that has been pointed out to me so now I see it more and more. Tina was sooo nice..it was a little disconcerting. Seriously...I mean I know nice people and genuinely nice people...she seemed over the top over done. The story was told great and will definitely read the next book, but I won't be in a rush to read it. The supporting characters were great...I loved Nat! She was the best BFF! ...more

He is so sensitive yet alpha and amazing...I can't even express the brilliance that is Harper Sloan. John Beckett is my DREAM BOAT! I can't wait for you to read it!!!! Pick this one up on 12/30/2013. I can't believe this is her 3rd book and they just keep getting better. If you loved Axel and Cage, be ready to drop your panties for Beck!!

I liked Jacob decker and Emme's story, but I was able to put 4-4.25 Most KA books are a 5 hands down, but recently it feels like something is missing. I liked Jacob decker and Emme's story, but I was able to put it down and be ok not coming back to it for a while. Usually, a book is a definite 5 stars if I can't put it down. Emme was very likeable and a strong h. I absolutely loved Jacob. He was definitely more a conversationalist than the other alpha males and I loved that!! I loved how sure he was about their relationship! He definitely didn't dick around in that aspect. I also loved the time gap. They knew each other before and had history. I honestly don't know what was missing from the story. KA is absolutely brilliant, but maybe becoming predictable. Someone always gets kidnapped. Anyway, I will always read KA..and re read her. I love doing her re reads to find what I've missed the other times I read it.

--June 20, 2013 I could be bias because I read every installment while it was being written, whilst texting the author and emailing back and forth constantly. I am super excited for Harper to get this thing published and out to the public. No one should go on without an Axel fix. He should be on EVERY favorites shelf. I have not re-read it completely all the way through, and CANNOT wait to get my hands on the finished copy to read it all the way through. I can't get over how awesome the characters are in this book. I know I will be re reading this book every few months! Each book I've read while reading Axel has not come close to comparing to his Alpha hotness! Harper is a VERY talented writer and the scenes she explains makes you feel you are witnessing it first hand. I had goosebumps, tears, sadness, and laughter throughout this book. I can say she is an emotional author and you FEEL. This is the best part of a book for me. I LOVE FEELING THE CHARACTERS. Mrs. Sloan has already perfected this with her first book. She has also created amazing supporting characters. If you could have seen my goofy grin when Harper and I were conversing about each character, I would be super embarrassed. I will write a full review once I complete this all the way through. I can't wait for all the reviews to come pouring in. Please recommend this book to all your friends....more

What to say about Cain and Charlie?? Man!! I absolutely LOVED Cain!!! He is my new book boyfriend at the moment! KA Tucker is an excellent story teller and I'm loving this series!! Cain is a stressed strip club owner who is like no other. Most club owners are scum bags and run drugs through their clubs, but not Cain. He keeps his girls clean and helps them get their lives together. Cain has a dark past and is trying to constantly make up for his parents mistakes and how he thinks he let his sister down. Charlie was also dealt a shitty hand. Her mother married a drug lord and died during child birth only to be raised by her step father. At a young age he started making her do drug drops and she knew she shouldn't have to do this, but felt an obligation to her step dad, plus was afraid for her life. She moved to Florida with a new identity courtesy of the 'loving' father. She was only supposed to drop drugs, but she ended up getting a job at Penny's strip club because she wanted to save money to get out from her stepdads thumb. Insert Cain and his need to save his girls, but Charlie is a mystery he can't solve. She's not opening up to him because she's afraid of what her step dad will do. Cain and Charlie's story is a unique one and I can't wait for Ben and Nates story!!...more

I do want to say Im glad I had book 2 handy, I may have tried to claw some bitches eyes out. Blake and Cole had a rough life and pulled each other out of darkness and into the light. I haven't read a series lately where I didn't want to ring the heroines neck. Most of the time they annoy me at the miscommunication or petty immature crying, but Blake didn't do that for me!! Yay! Yes, I questioned her decisions, but hell they were mostly justified. Anyway, there are no fitting words for Cole. He had some amazingly sweet lines. The epilogue was fantastic! PERFECTION.

And to have an equally as sexy identical twin brother, Jace??? Yummm! It's a college setting. A girl who is a 'slut' bc she doesn't do relationships because of her screwed up outlook on relationships because of her divorced parents. Her parents died in a tragic car accident when they weren't even supposed to be together. Emerson is convinced they were having an affair. She has 2 constants in her life, Quinn and Ellie. Her step-sister and step-mom. Ever since freshman orientation, she has had a 3rd constant friendship with Cole. He is like a big brother to her. She doesn't do relationships because someone always ends up leaving and she shields herself and others from heartbreak. Insert Jaxon Riley. Jaxon transferred schools from Texas and is Coles best friend from home. Jaxon and Emerson hit it off from the start. She has rules and she can't break them - they protect her and the other person. Jaxon on Emerson become best friends on top of the instant attraction, but Cole warned Jaxon off. He doesn't want his friends hurting each other because he's afraid he's going to lose Quinn if something goes wrong. Jaxon has an identical twin brother, Jace who is the love able sweet one and Jaxon is the bad boy. Jaxon is definitely swoon worthy. Here are some quotes. "I'll show you how great we are going to be. Because you're the most beautiful girl I've ever met, and I'm not talking about your gorgeous face, your stunning hair or your drop-dead sexy body. I never knew it was possible to be so attracted to your best friend." *swoon* "It's that YOU WERE MINE! Not his. MINE, EMERSON. But in your time of need, you chose someone else over me." "For as long as I live, I'll never forget how your heartbeat feels against my chest." Holy freaking cow! This is on my favorites shelf for life! I will be reading this again and again. Trace oh Trace. Cowboys and country music what else can you ask for?? I was reeled in by Nashville, country music, Kylie's heartbreaking story all in the first few chapters. This author knows how to grab your heart strings and tug at just the right moments. There were a few typos here and there and the style if writing was different than what I like or am used to, so it took a little while to get used to it. Personally, my favorite is when the book has the main characters point of view and it seemed this one was a general point of view and that's where it got confusing (that's why the .25 stars were knocked off) more of just a preference. I understand why she didn't do it in one POV so we can understand the WHOLE story, but anyway! Kylie caught the break of a life time and with it came a lot of trials. With no one in her life to help her make decisions, she was stuck to make them all by herself. She was a first feel and then think type of person, much like me. I think that's why I related so much to this character. Trace was a heartbreaker and she knew it. He didn't do relationships or love. He really was into drinking and wanted to screw up his career because his label wasn't treating him fair. Kylie and Trace get to know each other better on the tour. I loved how they believed the best in each other. This is a definite must read and to read again book. This will be a go to book for me! Go and pick it up!...more

I LOVED this installment of Woods and Della's story but damn if I wasn't pissed at 85%! Woods is a possessive alpha male to the max, but at the beginning his possessive more sounded like obsessive. His constant "I can't breathe without her" was a little much, but definitely showed how much he cared for her. Woods parents and their way of handling their son annoyed me. The rich and privileged only caring how others perceived them is such a waste of a human - I hate that he grew up like that, but glad he found real love and was able to show her his love. Della had a lot of demons to work through but was able to overcome them herself so she could be the woman she thought Woods needed. Ready for Tripp's book!!!! Grant is def an interesting character, but Tripp sounds sooooo intriguing!! So sad for Bethy and just still want to punch something! Def worth a read!

I'm not sure which story I liked better!! I honestly didn't think I was going to like Beth's story, but holy crap! Wow!! These teens definitely shouldn't have to go through this stuff! 5 of 5 stars - I would rate this more if I could. Definitely a must read and will be a re read for me! In book 1, I was so sure if Beth had a book I wouldn't relate at all. She was very closed off and I couldn't picture relating to that. Now, I can't decide which book I like better!!
Beth was so closed off because she didn't want to feel anymore. Every time she started to feel she got hurt, so she started numbing the pain or running away. In book 1, she was beaten up pretty bad by her moms boyfriend and Noah and Isaiah stood up for her. They tried to get her to leave her mom alone and forget about her, but she couldn't. She has been responsible for her moms well being for years...it was second nature. Her mom couldn't care less if she was there or not, just where she could get her next fix. Man...that just kept breaking my heart. How could a mother tell her daughter over and over she was a mistake and how she ruined her life? Seriously, I was an emotional wreck - why don't these women and men use condoms!! They shouldn't be reproducing. Children are a miracle and should not be the ones taking care of the parents. Anyway, back to the story. As you can see, Beth didn't have a steady home life. She wants and craves normal. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone knows what "normal" is or should be. After the final straw, Beth is turned over to her Uncle. He used to be her hero and now she resents him and blames him for leaving. Scott was between a rock and a hard place when he left that life. He didn't want to leave Beth but he had to make a life for himself and then come back to rescue her. Man, by the time she was 8 she was loving in hell, just 2 years after Scott left her. So for 10 years, every person she loved left. Finally, it makes sense. I definitely understand why Beth is closed off. Uncle Scott rips her away from her friends and moves her to a new school, a fancy home and a snobby community. Uncle Scott is a well known baseball player and is very respected in the community, but Beth doesn't want anyone to know they are related. She wants to be alone and not noticed until she can make a break for it.
Ryan Stone is a jock. A baseball player. Ryan has the perfect family. He has it all. On the outside. On the inside, he is broken. His family is broken, he loves baseball, but also has a new passion. Writing. His father is trying to live out his own dream of making it big through sports. His mother and father don't care what Ryan wants. They want to be the perfect family, they want people jealous/envious of them. Ryan's brother, Mark has been exiled from the family because he will give the family's name shame. Ryan feels alone and starts expressing himself through writing. Ryan and his best friends, Chris and Logan have been playing baseball together since they were in elementary school and rely on each other on and off the field. Ryan, Chris and Logan are at Taco Bell the last Friday night before school starts for the year. They are always daring each other. The current dare is to see who can get the most phone numbers.
Beth waltzes into Taco Bell and she is the next recipient of Ryan's dare. Ryan thought she was going to be easy - Beth gave him a run for his money. Ryan was unsuccessful and lost the dare that night. Sunday after Beth moves in with Scott they are in town and run into Ryan. Ryan and Scott discuss baseball and Scott asks Ryan to look after Beth at school. So here comes the fun, Beth with her everyone sucks attitude still doesn't swoon over Ryan. Much to Ryan's dismay - since he's the popular baseball player he can have any girl except Beth. Beth is smart enough to know she isn't his type and knows there has to be something in it for him to even talk to her. Lacy, one of Ryan's friends and Chris' girlfriend befriends Beth and remembers they used to be friends when they were 4 before Scott left and Beth moved. Lacy has been trying to rekindle their friendship and told Ryan to leave Beth alone if she still is a dare. So this whole time, Beth is trying to make plan to escape and get her mom away from her abusive drug dealing boyfriend and Ryan is still trying to win the dare. Ryan doesn't realize he's starting to fall for Beth and calls off the dare. He told Beth about the dare, thank goodness. I would have been so upset if he didn't.
Beth's best friend Isaiah isn't a huge part of the story any longer since Scott pulled her away from that life. It broke my heart when she said goodbye to him.
Ryan helps Beth realize she has family and friends in her new life and they could be happy. Beth helps Ryan with his family and they lean on each other and learn to trust.
