Robert (robertdownsbooks) | 243 comments So as I've told my wife, I have more passion than sense when it comes to reviewing. But the nice thing about passion is that it leads to honesty, and that's what I really strive for in all of my reviewing, along with a sense of discovery.

Warning. If you don't like foul language, you'll probably want to skip right over the below link. Dr. Pietro Brnwa briefly inhabited my universe for approximately 800 words or so, and I cannot be responsible for his blatant use of curse words.

Robert (robertdownsbooks) | 243 comments So I sometimes get a little overzealous with my book loving passion. During this review, I briefly entered the world of a high school stoner before reality came back to me.

Robert (robertdownsbooks) | 243 comments This review has managed to garner me a bit of attention on ÀÏ»¢»úÎÈÓ®·½·¨ and Amazon, so I couldn't resist adding it here. While it may lack a bit of book substance (at times), I like to think I more than make up for it with my level of disappointment.

Robert (robertdownsbooks) | 243 comments Light of the World: A Dave Robicheaux Novel

If you like reading about bad guys, I can't think of too many authors that do it better than James Lee Burke. His good guys have demons, and his bad guys sometimes feel like evil incarnate, but he still manages to inject a level of humanity into all of his characters.

Robert (robertdownsbooks) | 243 comments Jude Hardin knows how to name-drop his share of authors. He's managed to come up with a unique hard-boiled character with a mangled left hand and a revoked PI license for heroin abuse.

Robert (robertdownsbooks) | 243 comments Fifty Shades Trilogy by E.L. James

Fifty Shades Trilogy (Fifty Shades, #1-3) by E.L. James

So I realize this probably compares to tossing darts six inches from the dartboard, but I couldn't resist posting my review of the Fifty Shades trilogy, since I actually made it through all three novels. Plus, I just finished reviewing J. Kenner's erotica trilogy that covers a similar story arc.

Fender Benders by Bill Fitzhugh

This review may be over two months old now, but I do appreciate it when authors bring the zany.

Whistling Past the Graveyard by Susan Crandall

In honor of this novel's official publication date, which was two days ago, I couldn't resist pulling this review out of my backlist, or maybe I should just call it the review vault.

Robert (robertdownsbooks) | 243 comments All Edward all the time. So it's probably safe to say I was a bit of a fan of Edward Stanton and developed what one might call a bromance.

If you're curious, below are my reviews for 600 Hours of Edward and Edward Adrift.
