Enjoy the scavenger hunt. Look through your TBR for any books with A T & Y in the title! If you want to be a little more strict with the challenge, you can find titles that actually begin with these letters below.

-----------------------------------
Suggestions:
Listopia: Good Books that Begin with A

Listopia: Good Books that Start with the Letter T

Listopia: Titles that Start with X, Y, or Z
Listopia: Good Books that Begin with X, Y, or Z

-----------------------------------

Optional questions:
- What are you reading for this category?
- Which letter are you focusing on?

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments My OCD type tendencies wanted a book that had the letters, in order, in the title, lol..

So I went looking on my shelf and lo and behold the very first book on the top shelf was The AnaTomY of Hope. So there it is...

This will also be a good choice for me for work, because it will be interesting to discuss when my students learn about Loss, Death and Grief.

The Anatomy of Hope How People Prevail in the Face of Illness by Jerome Groopman

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments I'm planning to read in order in 2018, attempting to read a decent chunk of our challenge as non-fiction next year, and also want to read more books in translation, so although I have about a hundred (slight exaggeration) options on my plan, I've almost definitively settled on The Diving Bell and the Butterfly for this prompt.

Side-note - like the "no 'e' in the title" prompt this year, I became mildly obsessed with finding titles that had these letters in them. It's worn off now, thank goodness.

message 5: by Shelly (new)

Shelly | 67 comments I am going to start the my 2018 reading pilgrimage with The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce.

message 7: by Betty (new)

Betty Q | 109 comments I鈥檓 reading The Ladies of Ivy Cottage by Julie Klassen. I read the first book in the series and I got this one a month or so ago. I鈥檝e put off reading it so I can use it for this challenge!

message 8: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline | 426 comments I was originally thinking of rereading Eat, Pray, Love because I have it here but saw The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society the other day and bought it so that鈥檚 probably the one I鈥檓 going with now.

message 9: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society almost 10 years ago but would love to read it again when I have the chance!

message 10: by Chrissy (new)

Chrissy | 1129 comments I have a bunch of options, but already own His Majesty's Dragon so that is my most likely pick.

message 11: by Brianna (new)

Brianna (bebecburt) | 546 comments So far my top pick is Exit, Pursued by a Bear, but Isla and the Happily Ever After is a definite potential as well.

This was a hard topic for me, in the sense I had so many options!

message 12: by Emily (new)

Emily (momoftwins89) | 59 comments Haven't posted my plan to the group yet, but I plan on reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas for this first week. Just recently bought the 10th anniversary edition and saw that it fits this prompt. Can't wait to get started, this is my first year doing the challenge.

message 13: by Abigail (new)

Abigail (kementari) | 36 comments I settled on The Eyre Affair, since I've been meaning to read it for a while, but I was pleased when I realized almost any book with "Fairy" in the title would do. I'm a sucker for fairies.

message 14: by Eujean2 (new)

Eujean2 | 77 comments I am going to read Her Body and Other Parties.

There is a long wait at the library, so it's doubtful that I will actually be able to ready this during week one.

Agreed! This might be one that I wait until the end of the year to fill in because so many books fit in this topic!

I read Guernsey this year and it was wonderful! Highly recommend a re-read!

Lizzy | 891 comments I鈥檓 a big fan of the Outlander series, so I鈥檒l be reading the eighth book Written in My Own Heart's Blood. It鈥檚 a nice health 825 pages, and I can鈥檛 wait!

Krissy (krissystewart) | 407 comments I'll be listening to:

Openly Straight
Openly Straight (Openly Straight, #1) by Bill Konigsberg

message 19: by Marina H (new)

Marina H | 1312 comments This wasn't the most difficult prompt to find a book for. I'm sort of hoping I'll be able to read in order next year, so I'm starting of with a short book I know I'll be able to to get a hold of: The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I'm also trying to use books from my TBR and books I can tick off on certain lists and this one meets all those criterias :-)

message 20: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyneedsbooks) | 378 comments I鈥檓 going to (finally) read Catcher in the Rye for this one! I also considered reading Vanity Fair but might slot it elsewhere.

message 21: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Galanski Going to do Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, by JK Rowling. I鈥檝e listened to the audio book and seen the movie, but never read the book.

message 22: by Michele (new)

Michele (spookybookshelfie) The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling

message 23: by Mel (new)

Mel | 176 comments Like others have mentioned, I have a lot of options, so I decided to narrow my list by only using books from my TBR list that I already own. Which trimmed my list neatly down to just two options: Tales of the City & The Boy in the Black Suit. I'll probably wind up reading whichever looks more appealing at the time once 2018 starts.

I've heard good things so I'm excited to get to it!

message 27: by Rachel (new)

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 3238 comments I'm planning on Autoboyography. As soon as I saw this prompt, this title came to mind and has stuck ever since then, even though there are tons of other options. I think I just found it appealing that all three letters were in the same word, and the same order.

Arielle Young | 34 comments History Is All You Left Me

I've been wanting to read it for a while!

message 33: by Jovana (last edited Dec 26, 2017 05:49PM) (new)

Jovana (jfreads) I had set up a few options:

o Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day - Winifred Watson
o The Way We Live Now - Anthony Trollope
o The Grand Sophy - Georgette Heyer
o As You Like It - William Shakespeare
o The Way the Crow Flies - Ann-Marie MacDonald

I ended up choosing As You Like It to read. I am getting through the Shakespeare plays I didn't study in school slowly, and I find it a much more enjoyable experience. Plus, I kinda liked that it was the shortest title with these 3 letters on my TBR.

Katrina (katrinasreads) I read this wrong and thought you needed all three letters so I'm reading The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August a book which has been on my tbr shelves for too long.

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments You got it right, Katrina! You need all three letters in the title. 馃槉

I've never read this, but we watched the movie every single damn end of term in high school. Honestly - twelve times in the three years at that particular high school.

message 46: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline | 426 comments Haha The Year of Living Danishly. There's a 1978 novel called the Year of Living Dangerously. The early 80s movie starred Mel Gibson.

Also....loved The Day of the Triffids. Read it for High School. Still refuse to look at meteor showers. Vaguely remember seeing the movie once. The book was better.

message 47: by Teresa (new)

Teresa Kander I'm going with The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry because I've been meaning to read it ever since it came out!

message 48: by Janet (new)

Janet (jstephens) Going with old fashioned crime fiction to start the year...The Glass Key, by Dashiell Hammett.

message 49: by Jean (new)

Jean Cole (joc724) | 324 comments I didn't mean to choose a book with the letters A T Y in order necessarily, but I was scanning my TBR list for candidates and there it was:
The Agony and the Ecstasy: A Biographical Novel of Michelangelo by Irving Stone
