Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
2b ~ Post your team's stats on the Captain's Log prior to requesting a stamp
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game

I'll think of some team names. I would also like to pass on being team captain if that's okay too.

I'm from Belgium (central European timezone), so the shelves arrive at around midnight for me. That said, I don't mind being captain, I enjoyed doing that in the past. Unless you want to do it, Heather?

If you want some more options, maybe something Halloweeny to match the theme of this round?
* The Real Housewives of Transylvania
* We're Horror-ble
* Will Spook For Treats
* Phantoms United
and, of course, Wicked Witches
But I leave this to you two, I'm happy with anything!

Someone killed Kensington Booth, a sometime customer of the Honeybee and collector of the magical. Randy is soon the primary suspect, Declan's fellow firefighter and Bianca's (a fellow witch and part of the Spellbook Club) boyfriend. Katie, Delan, Bianca (well everyone of the Spellbook Club) know Randy is innocent. Katie, with the Coven's help embarks on finding out what really happened.
Throughout this series Katie has really grown into herself and her magic. In the last book, she did share with Detective Quinn she was a witch and with that confession, he does actively seek her help in this one. Katie needs to help Randy, deal with her house renovations, plan her wedding, and thwart her mother's wedding plan wishes.
The mystery was a good one. Katie has magical things happen to her. Declan experiences a magical trauma/loss. The Dragoh's may have competition (maybe).

Review:
The last Catalina book... I'm not sure if I want to cry or be happy...
Worldbuilding:
The head of the Assembly murdered, Linus attacked and a Russian Prince on their doorstep... And the day has only just begun. Oh boy *rubs hands in obvious glee*
This is the final part of Catalina's story, so be ready for a lot of things to happen and many loose ends to be tied up. As always, the scenes and environments were superbly written and detailed enough for perfect immersion.
Character development:
Catalina is Acting Warden, she just discovered a new aspect of her power (which is awesome but scary as hell) and has a House war finally closing in.
Alessandro is running himself ragged between all the jobs he has taken on. He needs sleep and to be with his woman... and not take calls in Italian about who knows what...
They both have their work cut out for them, and it won't be easy. But then again, we're talking about the Baylors, so that is pretty much a given.
Oh, and I nearly forgot about our Russian prince!! I hope we get to see more of him (and his family) in future instalments :D :D
The whole cast is so well-written, it's pretty insane. Every time I read a book by the author, I'm blown away by the level of skill. Every one of the cast matters, they don't care if it's a small role or the leading role. That character will have depth, hopes and fears and purpose. /bow
Pacing and flow:
The book, nay, the series is like my favourite latte macchiato with caramel, only the caramel is some fae substance and addicting. It just doesn't let you go until you reached the end, and you're stuck with a book hangover.
The book:
The book was well written with no (noticeable) errors. There is no sex described (if that is important to you).
It has 380 pages, spread over 19 chapters and is told from Catalina's point of view.
Final thoughts:
I love this series so much. Each and every book is just sooooo gooood! Superb writing, from scenes and environments to the whole cast. I cannot recommend it enough.
If you like urban fantasy with a dash of romance, and kickass heroines with swoon-worthy men who help them, then this series is one you really need to pick up!
Now let's all keep our fingers crossed for an Arabella book. We need more Baylor in our lives!

No worries!! Take your time, we're only in the first week, so no stress! :)

Perry and Garrett (who is now acting captain of the Nighthawks) have 2 murders to solve. 2 teenagers were found dissected in one of the draining factories. Their injuries and later on, other things lead Perry to realize she might be hunting her. We do learn about Perry's past and her need to confront it.
Excellent story about Perry's decision to no longer run and hide and confront her past so she can embrace her future. Garrett is finally able to admit how he feels and they both release they have much more support (and love shown to them) than they thought.
It will be interesting in what the newly vocalized realizations (both Barrons and Lynch) will led to in the next book. Next book is Barrons'.

Meant to Be Immortal by Lynsay Sands
Found on the SOS best of PNR series list
Date Read: 10/13/22
Stars: ****
This is book #32 in the Argeneau series, and while they are predictable to a point, Lynsay Sands has done a good job of mixing up each story to keep me coming back. The book opens with Mac Argeneau unpacking in his new home lab and he begins to smell smoke. Where there is smoke, there is fire, one of the few ways that are truly deadly to an Immortal. CJ is in town as a member of the SIU to investigate a possible dirty cop in this small town.
Due to staffing issues, CJ steps in to help out with investigating the possible arson at Mac's home and he immediately realizes that CJ is most likely his life mate. Many characters from past books arrive to assist Mac with his safety and in helping him with CJ and ensuring he is able to spend time with her. Since she is from out of town they have to finagle many opportunities for him to spend extra time with her.
Each book in the series has varied the circumstances how the leads meet, the ages of some of the mortals that have fallen in love with the Argeneau family members (in one book a much older women fell in love with a man she thought was in his 20's) and the characters have had wide ranging functions within the family so you aren't always reading about one type of person. This variety has really kept the series from having too much of a stale feeling when you read from book to book.
As with most of the other books in the series, this was a quick fun read and was a great addition to the series.

Bound by Night by Larissa Ione
From the Vampires shelf
Date Read: 10/16/22
Stars: ****
I picked this book up after my first vampire book was not working for me. I had read most of her Demonica series years ago and loved it so I had high hopes and this delivered. In this world, humans have been aware of vampires for about 80 years and Nicole's family owns a large company that help make vampire slave ownership easier but also works to find advances in human medicine with vampire biology.
Nicole was traumatized as a young child by a vampire attack at her home and has been terrified of them since. When she is kidnapped by the very vampire she has had nightmares about for 20 years, she begins to question everything she has ever believed about vampires.
I enjoyed the world building, for a first book in a series it was done well without drowning the story in too much detail. We got a sense of what a few of the clans and different characters were dealing with, but still got a lot of action and story outside of that.
After I was well into the book I noticed the series was only 2 books and I am a little disappointed I won't get more books since I loved everything about this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

Review:
I can't believe this is already book nr 11! I have been reading this series on and off for a few years now (I started in 2017), and Hugh, for me, was always the villain you hate to like, but well, I've always been weird like that :D
If you haven't read any of the Kate Daniels series, stop reading this review, and read those first. While I guess it's not mandatory, you will miss out on so much if you don't.
Worldbuilding:
We're taking a small break from Atlanta and Roland's games and off to Kentucky. To Baile, to be precise (you pronounce it as "Balyeh", and it means "Home"). Which is pretty damn fitting since we're here for most of the book.
As always, scenes and environments are so well written *sigh*. Total immersion isn't really a question, to be honest, it's just obvious.
Character development:
Hugh... yep, I'm starting with the guy this time cause we've known (and loved and hated) him for a long time now. But he's not in a good place at the moment. Drunk 24/7 and trying not to remember what he has lost. That is until some Iron Dogs come for him and wake him up to the reality that his long-time enemy Landon Nez is killing off his Iron Dogs one by one. But where to go with 300 men and women who have nothing? Well, glad you asked *points at Elara*. May I present to you Elara, our White Lady (but she hates being called that). She's mysterious, powerful, and really doesn't want to reveal anything that might actually help Hugh it seems. But she has a castle with food and plenty of space. All she wants in return is protection. And what way to cement such an alliance but with marriage... oh boy. Expect fireworks and lots of it!
Hugh and Elara are two very, very different people, but they have one important thing in common. They want to protect and take care of their people. This book is about finding the middle ground and moving from there.
Characters, both main and side characters, are very well written. You get to know them, care for them and, omg... the feels. Like seriously, you'll get emotionally invested. Just saying.
Pacing and flow:
A lot happens, and looking back, I can't believe the book is only 392 pages. It felt like way over 500, but in a good way, I promise! Good balance between the action and all the conversation (and fighting and yelling :D). I've taken the time to read this book, but it was always on my mind.
The book:
The book was very well written with no (noticeable) errors. There is some sex described (if that is important to you).
As I've said, it has 392 pages, spread over 17 chapters and is told from both Hugh's and Elara's point of view.
Final thoughts:
What's not to love about this book?! We get to see a different side of Hugh, and I have to admit, I like him even more now :D Superb writing, absolutely engaging. I mean, just pick it up and read it!

Great job, everyone! 馃榿

Synchronized Sorcery
Finished 10/19, 4*
Lily and Sailor, newly hand-fasted, return from their European honeymoon. Things start out fast. Adian is still out of town, healing from the events of the previous book. Lily is tasked with his duties. She finds a body in his office and decides to investigate. She also finds a mermaid costume that, at least at first, no one knows where it came from.
It was interesting to read about the 1939 World's Fair and Treasure Island. Lily does solve the murder, after a few false starts. Oscar finds a friend (a bat). Lily also meets her brother (she never knew of his existence before; same father, different mother). She comes further into his abilities, Maya shares her truth, and she and Sailor decide on a place to live. This is (for now) the last book. It doesn't read like a last one, but things are (for the most part) resolved, no cliffhanger.

Wolf Gone Wild
By: Juliette Cross
Read: 10/22/22
Stars: **** 1/2
This was the first time reading anything by this author for me and I really enjoyed it. I am a sucker for a slow burn romance and when I read that in the description of this book, that made my mind up real fast, and it delivered! Mateo is a werewolf that has been cursed. He hasn鈥檛 been able to shift for two months and his wolf is starting to talk to him incessantly, driving him to seek sex and/or violence. Mateo is an artist and can鈥檛 focus with 鈥淎lpha鈥 talking constantly in his head. He seeks out Evie, the hexbreaker witch that is known to be able to break any hex. When Mateo finds that Alpha quiets whenever Evie is near he has to find a way to convince Evie to not only help him, but also spend extra time with him while she tries to solve the mystery of how to help him.
The slow burn came through as promised. The building of the relationship was great to read about two people falling in love and doing incredibly kind things for each other. Though that sounds so simple, it was just really sweet, but not corny. Also, no end of book disagreement/break-up, which I especially appreciated. I will definitely continue this series, which I assume will be about Evie鈥檚 many sisters.

Looking at the spreadsheet and the shelves that have been called, a handful of teams will have 3 in a row.
Possible winning shelves are:
Equinox for teams 1 and 6
October for team 4
Horror for team 11
Mystery/Thriller for team 14.
Ours is on a diagonal.

Better Homes and Hauntings

Both a haunted house and house on cover
I really thought about reading book 2 in the Innkeeper series but I haven鈥檛 read The Edge series yet and I read a review that characters show up from that series so I might take a break from that series and hop over to Edge first.
