Dixie (dixietenny) | 779 comments Do we have a Listopia for the Readathon winner? I'm afraid I can't remember what their prompt choice was.

Joanna G (joanna_g) | 320 comments We've had the summer reading challenge, but I think the readathon winner isn't being picked until tomorrow, to give everyone time to get their entries in. I'm imagining their choice will come with the results of the current poll?

Yes, the Read-a-Thon winner will be picked tomorrow, and we will (hopefully) have their chosen prompt with the Poll 15 results!

Ah okay, great! I thought I had missed it!

Hayley | 99 comments I'm confused about how the prompts work for this year. It's not straightforward. Maybe I'm a little bit slow, but how do we get to 52 books?

Poll 18 will have the final two prompts. Emily will post the list order later this week. The Anniversary List is a bonus/side challenge.

Thanks for explaining, Jillian.

The final list order with the remaining two prompts will be posted on Wednesday! I just got a head start on organizing the group to get ready for the launch.

dalex (912dalex) | 2646 comments Question: is there any way to make the best books listopia more accurate?

Most people (me included!) do not follow the "Please do not include books that were not first published on the ATY Book of the Month threads in 2024." rule. Honestly I only noticed this on the listopia a week or so ago!

People are adding up to 100 books. I don't know how people could possibly have 100 "best books" in a year. Or even less than a year, since some of those 100 lists were there long before December.

I've seen notes on some of the books like "on my TBR" or "haven't read yet." So how is it a best book of the year?

I'm not attempting to police how people utilize the listopia. But I feel like it could be more accurate plus eliminating the things I mentioned above would help keep the list more manageable. There's already nearly 500 books on the 2024 list. That's a lot of books to look through to find a book for the 2025 prompt.

message 11: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 2831 comments dalex, Jackie adds most of the books to the listopia and is limited to 100 books. She asks others to vote for books she has added so she can then add more books. I actually don鈥檛 personally add any books (I have trouble with the idea of picking a best book for a month/year etc.) but I do vote to help Jackie.

Yes, what Jillian said is correct. And it's likely that people are adding those notes as a way to remember which ones they want to read/why they want to read them to distinguish them from helping Jackie with the book adding.
