I really liked Succubus Blues, Geogina cracked me up.
I'm actually behind in my reading. Here it is, Dec 2 and I'm not even half way through my first book. I should be half way through at least my second. Sigh, but Dec is such a hard month time wise. I spent the last 2 days helping Oz (my daughter, she participated in earlier challenges, for new comers) look for a new Christmas tree and doing shopping. Today is Som's (foreign exchange "granddaughter") birthday and we were doing some shopping for that. Sigh, her BIG present is still in transit. And, at least according to UPS has been in NC since 6 am the 30th. Can we all say NOT a happy camper right now?
I also am trying to get a quilt finished (its for my bed, but its supposed to be a present for hubby) and sewing on that is taking more time away from reading.
Sigh, gotta get buckled down and get some more reading done, as well as grocery shopping, sewing, and some time here REALLY soon, Oz and I have got to get together and get our annual 30 dozen (or so) cookies baked and then distributed.
WHAT AM I DOING READING POSTS?????? AARRRGGGHHHH, so much to do, so little time.

The Royal Treatment was great fun! Alternate history rather than paranormal, but still highly entertaining. Can't wait to read the next one.

Moon Awakening is copyrighted 2007 and has probably been on my bookshelf since late 2007/early 2008 which is around the time that I was really getting into urban style PNR and was leaving other sub-genres behind. Moon Awakening takes place in old Scotland in an indeterminate time and is generally a werewolf story. It's currently the only book in the series, but Book #2, Moon Craving, is coming out in Feb 2010. There is also a precursor to the series, Run With the Moon, that is available as a .pdf download on Lucy's website.

Yes, there was some repetition of things that I got the FIRST 3 times they were mentioned. But not as much as for instance in Storm Front. (which I did love, btw.)

CURRENTLY READING:

Cherra, I have NOT read the series of the same name by Sunny, but after checking the synopsis on Amazon, the two sound COMPLETELY different. The series by Lucy Monroe takes place in the Scotland Highlands in the past and is about a secret werewolf/shapeshifter tribe. It's about an English girl who is traded to one of the Scottish Lairds in marriage, then kidnapped before the wedding by a neighboring clan and discovers that both clans are secretly ruled by a werewolf people. She gets caught up in trying to prevent a war between the two tribes caused by her kidnapping.
The book coming out in Feb features her deaf sister and one of the men/werewolves you meet in Book 1.

Tara, why'd you abandon Soulless? I just bought it b/c it's gotten super-high praise from a bunch of other folks here on the site, so I'm curious.

Just a matter of personal preference. I picked it up without reading anything about it except that everyone here loved it. I'm really not much into historical period writing. I'm sure one day I'll go back to it, but then I'll be prepared and in the right frame of mind.

New_user,
No, I haven't read it yet, but will likely do so soon. However, I thought Moon Awakening did a good job of explaining them to the main character and thereby explaining them to the reader as well. I wasn't confused and certainly liked the book enough to put book #2 on my wishlist. ;-)

Its preferable if they have some element of the paranormal in them, Crystal. Just as an example, the book I just finished had ghosts in the first story and time travel in the second.

I tried to start Dream Warrior tonight at work. I have a copy of it on audiobook and I can listen to headphones at work. I actually downloaded the book about a year ago and couldn't remember why I never got around to just listening to it. Now I remember why!!! The guy that reads it is one of the worst readers I've ever heard! I listen to a TON of audiobooks and for the most part I'm not at all picky about readers. It's really rare for me to find someone that I really don't like. Well, this guy tops the list! I might have to go pick up the actual book if I intend to get it read this month. I don't think that I can keep listening!
