maybe I'm alone on this, but at this rate (2 books/month) I can't keep up with the discussions in this group. it takes time to access hardcopy books if they're not online or if there's no computer access (happens kinda often for me), so it's hard to keep up. I don't know if more people would participate in the discussions if we read slower or if maybe it's better to read more books and just have several discussions going at once... for me i'd prefer we moved at a slower pace and spent longer on each book so I'm not left out on books I'm really excited to read & discuss, and on a wider note because i'd like this group to feel accessible to people using libraries & busy/slow readers. thoughts anyone?

first a proposal:
let's push back The Rev of Everyday Life to be the group read for May.

that said, if not, it's highly unlikely I can get any of these as hardcopy to read in May in my current sitch and I doubt they're online, so I'll probably miss this month altogether, but Damnnnn that's a good list!! I'd love any of these, but esp.

I know I am prattling through books, and obviously there are nuisances with any book that can be expanded into a full length discussion - so possibly we should talk about an adequate timeframe for locating a book and then getting round to reading and discussing it.

Ah! I found a library hardcopy of Pedagogy of the Oppressed! In English! Anyone else want to read that?

I have a copy of the book, but should we collate a few books and send out a poll? It engages more people that way.

wow, great list. if i absolutely had to choose, my vote would go to fanon or freire, but i would happily engage in reading any of these, if i can find at my library.

My vote for the next book goes to "The Wretched of the Earth" or "The Coming Insurrection".
