In order to cut down on the number of nominations, I'm trying some suggestions from last month's nominations thread. Here are the rules:

Books need to be full length novels, standalone or first in series, available in a variety of formats.

Authors cannot nominate their own books.

Genre is fantasy.

I just finished The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making and firmly believe it will become a classic. It is the fantastical quest of a little girl through Fairyland, but with all the whimsy of C. S. Lewis' writing style and the darker touches of a Grimm's Fairy Tale. I highly recommend it to one and all!

I'll second the nomination of The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making - I've heard great things about it and have been wanting to read it.

i would like to nominate The Child Thief by brom. i've had this one for a while and it looks wonderful. just haven't had a chance to get around to reading it.

The Child Thief is not a young adult title! from the amazon reviews i've read, apparently it is actually disturbing stuff.

I will nominate Little Big by John Crowley, the most complex book that I have ever read.

I'll have to definitely go for A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin since I just picked this up for a re-read and loving it still! =)

I nominate one of the few 5 star books I have read which is The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold One of the best reads ever and my favourite book

Since A Game of Thrones and Way of Kings have already been selected in the past, I nominate Brent Weeks' new Lightbringer Series, starting with The Black Prism.

Here, There Be Dragons and Blood Red Road are both Young Adult. Since we just had Leviathan, which is definitely Young Adult and maybe 'Young Readers' which is also the genre for Here There Be Dragons, I reiterate: Do we want another young adult book so soon???

Yes, on either of these books or both. I own both but have yet to read them. If I have to choose between the two, my choice is Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell.

What about the new ASOIAF (finally!) - A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin? I think it's fair to assume that at least a quarter of this group will be reading it in the coming month anyway.

I would love to read Little, Big but I don't think it qualifies as "available in a variety of formats" seeing as it almost entirely out of print.

Thats not true. It's available from BN in a variety of formats. I just got a copy recently.

Have you all not read the thread? This book is a Picture book for Young Readers! I don't think it qualifies!
