I love quirky stories!Some that I can remember on the top of my head:
Getting It in the Head
Zazie in the Metro
Tales of the Unexpected or anything Roald Dahl wrote for adults
Anything by Edward Gorey
I don't think I've ever read a wierder book than:

I agree! "Kiss, Kiss" by Roald Dahl is very dark and creepy.

I find Phillip K Dick's books rather trippy, especially Ubik and Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said.Injury Time is another slightly off-kilter book.

Quirky and weird pretty well encapsulates author Christopher Moore's entire output.One recent read from his list of works is Island of the Sequined Love Nun.
It has talking fruit bats. I'll leave you to it!
I think Charlotte Raine's Grant and Daniels Series was a little weird and quirky. All the characters had some sort of crazy.Short reads but full of murder and mayhem.
