Megan, would you be able to help out with a link for a new release by a Kiwi author? I have searched the links I put up, and can't find anything....
Talking about the Christmas Carol book, I went to [book:A Christmas Carol|5326], and was amazed to see you could actually download the ebook, which I did, so I now have it to read, instead of having to get it from the library!

Me too...and now we can (at the beginning of December) hahaha!!!

My reading isn't usually planned... so whatever you see me throw onto here is what I've read. However, what I'm getting into now is great!
1. '11-22-63' by Stephen King. The newest installment from this brilliant author. I bought it only last Friday and haven't been able to keep my hands off it! *sigh* time travelling books.... I love them! And I've hit the 100page mark; meaning that I'm going well! ;)
Mozette wrote: "Over Christmas, I'll be spending my time here in Brisbane - and not at the coast - as I've heard it's going to rain. So, I'll have plenty of space to spread out and read! And Little Miss Stevie (..."
You won't, of course, include this one in the Summer challenge will you Mozette;D Can't start that till 1/12/11:)

It'll take me that long to finish it, that by the time Summer officially comes around, it'll be included in the challenge. :) This is why I began this book this early; so I could take my time reading it. :)

but the book says you can start on the 22/11/1963

Festivals during Summer in Australia
1. Celebrate Australia! Choose a book from one of our Aussie authors for this one. http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/5...
2. Lighten the load! We’ve all been complaining about it. Those mountainous TBR shelves! Choose one book from your TBR list.
3. Food! We all love food, and the summer fare is delightful! Choose a book relating to summery foods, salads, barbeques, pavlova, recipes, anything where summery foods might be a topic or even the title! http://www.goodreads.com/search?query...
4. Choose a book with a word related to SUMMER in the title (e.g. summer, heat, beach, holidays etc., I‘m sure you can think of many examples) OR a book that the story is set during summer http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/39...
5. Australia Day is on the 26th January, () so find something relating to the First Fleet, a National Day, family bbqs and get togethers, even Anzac biscuits...anything relating to our special day.
6. The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is held in February. It’s one of the largest festivals in the world and is a major draw card for Aussie tourism. So choose a book with a gay character or written by a gay author.
7. Christmas is almost upon us, and we will be hearing continual Christmas Carols from now on. Find a book about Christmas, but make sure there's reference somewhere to Carols in the story! e.g. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/53...
http://www.goodreads.com/search?query...
8. New Release...choose a book which is released between 1st December, 2011 and 28th February 2012...it doesn't have to be by an Aussie author! See if you can find a KIWI author for this one..it'll give you a new author to try! (it's ok if you can't, as long as it's a new release) http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/82...
http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/13...
9. Have you checked out the excellent Literature Map website ? Type in the name of a favourite author, choose the author closest to him/her and select one of their books to read.
10. It’s Valentine’s Day in February! Choose a book with a touch of Romance. You'll be sure to find one you like from http://www.goodreads.com/search?q=Rom.... But feel free to interpret 'Romance' however you want. Could be romance, love of family or friends, love of a cause, country or even God. As long as it's a significant theme in the story it's OK.:)
ENJOY A WONDERFUL SUMMER'S READING
