Beautiful, sapphic, and Faustian—what more could you want?

As Many Souls as Stars hit all the right notes for me. I’ve been loving stories that follow souls meeting across lifetimes, and this one brought that concept to life with a darker, witchier twist that completely worked. The tone is gothic and moody, but what really drew me in was the aching, the longing—and the fact that it came from a character you wouldn’t expect to feel those things. Watching a villain unravel emotionally was one of the most compelling aspects of the book.

I’ve always been a sucker for a Faustian bargain, and this novel handled the theme in such a satisfying and inventive way. The twist at the end genuinely surprised me, and I loved how it recontextualized so much of what came before. It’s rare to be both enchanted and blindsided, but Natasha Siegel pulled it off beautifully.

This was my first book by Siegel, but it definitely won’t be my last. I can’t wait to explore more of her work.

What do you do when you accidentally turn your husband into a horse on your wedding night? You ride him—duh! Behooved was such a fun and quirky fantasy with a unique premise and a ton of charm. The romance is definitely a slow burn, but the banter and humor kept things moving and totally entertaining.

I listened to the audiobook (thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the early copy), and as usual, they nailed it. Natalie Naudus did an amazing job with the narration—she had me cracking up with her delivery, especially during the snarky back-and-forths between Bianca and Aric.

The chemistry between the leads was great, and honestly, I was really into the yearning and tension between them. I even found myself wishing the steamy moments lasted a little longer, which isn’t something I usually say! I was also left with a couple of lingering questions—mainly about the green witches and Bianca’s illness. Those elements felt important, so I was surprised they didn’t get more closure. Maybe there’s a sequel coming?

From the jump, issues arise. Blake is clearly attracted to her, which causes instant friction. đŸ”„

I love when a psychological thriller has the main character being gaslit to insanity by the so-called villain, while their partner is just aloof and oblivious to the chaos unraveling around them đŸ§ đŸ’„. His descent into madness had me spiraling with him — like is the fiancĂ©e really just clueless? Or is she lowkey in on it?? The way Whitney gets in her head and turns her against him had me screaming đŸ˜±.

I was side-eyeing everyone the whole time 👀. It had me questioning everything and texting my friends like “NO WAY.”

And when the twist happened? Oh, it most definitely twisted đŸ”Ș— I was geeked!! That reveal had me clutching my Kindle like a madwoman 🐧🐠.

This is 100% a redemption book for me — a full-on BANGER!

I can’t speak too much on the details without giving spoilers but trust me when I say: this is a must-read. If you love psychological thrillers that make you feel like you’re the one losing your mind and questioning everything — this is it. I was screaming into the void and needed a straight jacket đŸ©ž.
