this just wasn’t working for me—the plot was flat, romance was shallow, and almost entirely telling rather than showing. only it didn’t really *tell* anything of importance until the last 5% of the book.

the story relies heavily on dialogue, which isn’t necessarily bad, but the dialogue itself was a bit repetitive and lacked depth.

as for the romance—their relationship didn’t come across as being anything beyond physical since there really was no chemistry between them. purely physical would have been fine, but they ended up going the “i’m in love with you” route and it just wasn’t believable.

overall, this book had potential but i wouldn’t recommend if these are the kinds of things that bother you.
