The Lily of Ludgate Hill is the third book in the Belles of London Series.
Lady Anne Deveril窶冱 heart was broken six and half years ago when she was seventeen by her childhood friend Mr. Felix Hartford. Her father died unexpectedly, the day after Hartford proposed. Her mother and her were thrown into deep mourning, dealing with their grief and the requirements set on them during Victorian society. Hartford sets out on expedition only to return and find Lilly unable to fulfill her promise. Anne's mother, the dowager Countess of Arundell, is unable to move past the death of her husband, She relies on laudanum and has spiritualism.
Duty bound and family responsibility, Lilly has moved away from society to care for her mother.

Loyalty to her friend drives her to seek out Hartford窶冱 assistance in the recent abduction of her dearest friend, she will agree to travel with him to his grandfather窶冱 estate. Together again, their feelings for each other will rekindle, and Lilly will find that Hartford has more depth than she ever guessed before.

A lovely and enduring romance, I highly recommend this book to those looking for an excellent storyline, along with characters that you will fall in love with.
This is by far, my all time favorite book written by this distinguished author!
MiMi Matthews has the set the mark very high in her clean romance books.
