Fieldwork by Iliana Regan

Clare’s first review of the year

liked it

It also felt really scattered-childhood, then present, then a random encounter with a stranger, then childhood again. A stronger focus to an aspect of her life- like the creation or running of Milkweed Inn would have made it more enjoyable in my opinion. ...more

Clare’s last review of the year

did not like it
I was so underwhelmed by this book. There wasn't a single character whom I felt endeared to and the style of writing- choppy and with so many "sweet similes" and dramatic metaphors just had me rolling my eyes. There was nothing groundbreaking in this novel in my opinion and I was constantly embarrassed for the main character, yikesss ...more
