Terrific book made especially enjoyable listening to Colum McCann read his own work..

But wait... there's more! Complications.

I must mention how much I enjoy the little cartoon maps of the area that are in the opening pages of these books. They really help me orient myself.

I love these people in this village but they would drive me nuts in real life!

I am loving this! I decided to read some of the 'classics' I've missed over the years, and this is the first of Chandler's - both his first, and mine of his.

I wasn’t planning to read this now, but I opened it to see what it’s like and I don’t think I can stop.

This feels very different from Bosch. But it’s interesting because this must hark back to Connelly’s own background.

Reading and listening. Scary times

Life shouldn't be allowed to interfere with reading.

She is so smooth, so real, so understated - I love it all.

I've been reading and listening to short stories as they crop up and reading this in between. It is still very good - taking a dark turn, perhaps.

So far we've had a close look and point-of-view from teen daughter, younger brother, and mother. The kids, particularly, react with some extreme imagined scenarios that can be very funny, but you know their excitement or fear or hurt are very real to them.

Reading and listening, depending. Enjoying it so far.

I could just let this guy's words roll over me all day long. Reading it is like listening - so smooth, I can hear it in my mind.
