I started writing novels after a long career in broadcasting and journalism. My first novel - The Girl with Emerald Eyes (originally published as 'Secrets of the Tower' in March 2015), is set in two time zones - the modern day and 12th century. It explores the extraordinary woman who left the money to build the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
My second novel: Daughters of the Silk Road follows the journey of a family of merchant explorers who return to Venice from China with a Ming Vase. The book again straddles two time zones.
The Silk Weaver's Wife was published in 2017 and is set in the world of the Italian silk industry. The period story follows the journey of a young Veronese woman who is forced into an abusive marriage. The modern heroine unco ...more

I don't know if The Photograph will be published in Germany. Unfortunately, I have no control over which of my books gets sold abroad etc - it's in the hands of the publisher. But I can hope! I'm also so delighted that you felt the characters were strong enough to warrant a sequel. I'm not sure what I could add to their stories, but it's worth thinking about. Then just sit back down at your desk and crack on.... eventually the mist will lift and it will be ok.(less)

Daughters of the Silk Road

I have just received my first review of 'Daughters of the Silk Road' - and it was for 5*. I'm thrilled obviously. The book was put up on Net Galley on Friday evening, and I'm so touched that someone took the trouble to read it so quickly and leave such a positive review.
