Theology matters: Showing the glory of story

WHEN the history of biblical scholarship in the 20th and 21st centuries comes to be written, a strong case will be made for seeing Richard B. Quotes by N.T. Wright  (?)
Quotes are added by the 老虎机稳赢方法 community and are not verified by 老虎机稳赢方法.

“Jesus's resurrection is the beginning of God's new project not to snatch people away from earth to heaven but to colonize earth with the life of heaven. That, after all, is what the Lord's Prayer is about.”
N.T. Wright, Surprised by Hope: Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church

“The point of the resurrection鈥s that the present bodily life is not valueless just because it will die鈥hat you do with your body in the present matters because God has a great future in store for it鈥hat you do in the present鈥攂y painting, preaching, singing, sewing, praying, teaching, building hospitals, digging wells, campaigning for justice, writing poems, caring for the needy, loving your neighbor as yourself鈥攚ill last into God's future. These activities are not simply ways of making the present life a little less beastly, a little more bearable, until the day when we leave it behind altogether (as the hymn so mistakenly puts it鈥). They are part of what we may call building for God's kingdom.”
N.T. Wright, Surprised by Hope: Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church

“When we learn to read the story of Jesus and see it as the story of the love of God, doing for us what we could not do for ourselves--that insight produces, again and again, a sense of astonished gratitude which is very near the heart of authentic Christian experience.”
