Could have been because of the language, page-length, subject matter, being forced to read it for school, genre, etc. but was the most difficult book you ever had to read?

Chloe (chloe36) | 21 comments I really did not enjoy reading Pride and Prejudice, because I had to read it for school in seventh grade. I found it very dull and uninteresting, even though it's revered as a classic. Also, The Hobbit was difficult, I had to read it for the same class.

Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Hated that book. Forced to read in school.

Barbara (futuregirl) | 5 comments This would have to be a close tie between As I Lay Dying (an abstract piece of garbage if ever there was one) and The Grapes of Wrath (it was mind-numbingly boring). I honestly can't say which one I disliked more
