Patricia Harman asked Patricia Harman:

What's the hardest thing about being a writer?

Patricia Harman Yesterday I answered a question ϻӮ about what is the greatest thing about being an author. Today "What is the hardest thing?" SELF DISCIPLINE. Writing books is a job you can do at home in your PJs, being at home means there's always something you should do...empty the compost...take care of recycling...fold laundry... and also the fun stuff, go to the gym to swim, take a walk, take a nap. So being disciplined is the hardest thing. How do I cope with that? Well, one of the things I do is plan ahead. Rather than just going to my computer and staring at the screen, I leave myself a message the day before and highlight what to work on next, a new chapter, research, or go back and edit the last chapter. Sound like fun or work? Some of each. 😆
