I prefer to have two writing projects going at the same time. Then, if I really am struggling with something, I can put it aside and move to the other project.
Usually the active break of working on something else lets my unconscious resolve the issue by the next day.
Limiting it to two projects means I'm not tempted to keep moving on to new projects.
