“Other times, I look at my scars and see something else: a girl who was trying to cope with something horrible that she should never have had to live through at all. My scars show pain and suffering, but they also show my will to survive. They're part of my history that'll always be there.”

“I have come to believe over and over again that what is most important to me must be spoken, made verbal and shared, even at the risk of having it bruised or misunderstood.”
―
―
“I have a duty to speak the truth as I see it and share not just my triumphs, not just the things that felt good, but the pain, the intense, often unmitigated pain. It is important to share how I know survival is survival and not just a walk throught the rain.”
―
―
“Writing is a form of therapy; sometimes I wonder how all those who do not write, compose, or paint can manage to escape the madness, melancholia, the panic and fear which is inherent in a human situation.”
― Ways of Escape
― Ways of Escape
“If you stuff yourself full of poems, essays, plays, stories, novels, films, comic strips, magazines, music, you automatically explode every morning like Old Faithful. I have never had a dry spell in my life, mainly because I feed myself well, to the point of bursting. I wake early and hear my morning voices leaping around in my head like jumping beans. I get out of bed to trap them before they escape.”
―
―
“The lack of human voices really gets to me. I never realized that we need to talk with other people just to know that we exist. That we matter. Loneliness is a howling, empty cavern inside of me that just keeps growing.”

Yes. Yesterday on GoodReads--I think the winners are listed--and on my blog. I have to count out the entries today, randomly pick some. I'm behind a bit; I've had so much to do--but I'll be doing it today.

Skyler, no worries! If you can't get the video up at all, that's *okay*! (hugging you) Your comments felt good to read, period.

Do you mean an email interview? Or, er, video? I'm totally cool with email. Maybe on video. :)

Good! You can enter both, though, you know; then you have double the chances. All you have to do is leave a comment on my blog post.

Skyler, you should see a button to press that says "enter to win" on this page:
http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...
You can also enter for more chances at a signed copy (and a $10 Amazon gift card) on my blog here:
I'm sorry; I should have thought to mention it! I forget that people like autographed copies. I hope you enter, and good luck!

WOW. That is huge! Thank you!! Please let me know when you have it up and I will tweet it. Thank you!!

I put one on good reads and I will put one on Amazon thank you for asking me it is an honor....

Skyler, thanks so much for checking with your librarian; that's fantastic! (beaming) Every bit of getting the word out there helps a book. I'm glad she had it already, glad she enjoyed it! And...I don't know if I asked you already, but would you be willing to write a short review or even a few sentences saying what you liked, and put it on Amazon and GoodReads? It really does make a difference in getting the word out. But please don't feel you have to! Only if you want to.
take good care,
Cheryl

Thank you so much, Skyler, for letting me know; I really appreciate it! I'm so glad you liked Scars! It was important to me to have Kendra being happy being queer (and in a good relationship). I think we need a lot more books like that.
I have another novel coming out this October called HUNTED. It's a paranormal fantasy about Cassie, a telepath on the run from government troopers who must choose whether to save herself or to save the world. She's not queer, but another important character (one of her friends) is. You can read more about it here: if you'd like to. I hope you'll check it out when it comes out. :)
Take good care,
Cheryl
